Mehdi Livingstone is a New Yorker who loves to cook so much that he starts trying to cook whatever Youtube video he lands up on by accident or voluntarily. Mehdi once watched a video on the Youtube that taught how to cook the famous Indian Suji Halwa and finding that he had all the ingredients available at his kitchen, he started cooking it and after having the taste of it, he fell totally in love with the Suji Halwa.
Mehdi fell so much in love with Suji Halwa that he started exploring everything about India on the internet. As his obsession with everything Indian grew, his desire to travel to India grew as well.
Finally, during the winter vacation of 2018, Mehdi managed to travel to India. He landed up at the New Delhi airport but his desire was more about exploring the religious towns and cities of India than New or Old Delhi.
Mehdi already had hired a Meru cab to take him to his hotel in NOIDA straight from the airport. After taking a long nap of 6 hours at his hotel room, Mehdi took a cab to the holy city of Varanasi where he met the Aghori Sadhus, the Naga Sadhus and tried to learn sacred things from them. He says that he visited each and every shrine of Varanasi. After Mehdi felt that there was nothing else to explore in Varanasi, Mehdi moved towards Haridwar where the Hindus worship river Ganges and come for the funerals. Mehdi didn’t find much attraction in Haridwar and therefore he decided to move away from there ASAP and then he ended up arriving at the scariest and most popular ghost temple in Rajasthan – Mehandipur Balaji.
Mehdi was so scared after visiting the temple that he decided to put an end to his holy Indian tour for this time and move back to his hotel in NOIDA. After that, Mehdi explored NOIDA and Delhi for 2 days and then finally went back to New York. It is funny how a Suji Halwa took him so many places and cost him tens of thousands of dollars but he enjoyed it thoroughly.
