Amedee Vanickova is the daughter of a French mother and Czech father. Amedee traveled to the United States from Czech Republic with her parents when she was 17 and now when she is 21 and a University Graduate, she came back to only find that the employees are already being laid off more than they are being recruited in most of the major Czech companies. With Amedee, it was even harder because she had no past experience of working anywhere and she felt like an alien in Czech Republic after coming back after 4 years. She had one hope that her being a graduate from the US and her command in the English language will help but it didn’t as much as discovering a Czech language free jobs portal (inzerce práce zdarma) did.
Another example is that of an Indian immigrant to the Brno, Czech Republic whom I would call “Ajay” here. After not being able to find a job in his home country, Ajay migrated to the Czech Republic hoping that getting a job would be far easier here. It is definitely far easier comparatively in Czech Republic but not as much as like many immigrants, Ajay believed it to be. He went from one company to another hoping to get a job there but failed and then he asked his Czech landlord for the help, which he did. Ajay’s landlord told him about a free Czech jobs portal that goes by the name ABeCeDa Prace, Ajay checked it and it took him only 3 working days to get a job.
